St Magnus is fortunate to possess a scale model of old London Bridge, built in 1987 by David Aggett, as it might have appeared in c.1400, the year in which the famous mason Henry Yevele was buried in the church. Every aspect of life on the bridge is captured, including around 900 figures.
One figure is not in mediaeval garb: a 20th-century policeman in uniform. This is intended to represent David Aggett (a former Detective Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police) himself. The bespoke cabinet and display case for the model was made by Geoffrey Rowe, a furniture maker who formerly worked in the City of London close to St Magnus.
